Cancellation of BINUS SCHOOL Serpong's participation in NHSMUN, New York

[School Serpong - Auto Notification]

Dear NHSMUN Parents,



In light of the ongoing global health issue and the World Health Organisation's declaration of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019 n-CoV) as a public health emergency of international concern, the School has decided to cancel the participation of our students in this year's National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) scheduled on the 28th of February until 10th of March 2020.  As you may have gathered from recent news, a good number of countries are taking necessary precautions, particularly in relation to travels, to prevent the spread of the outbreak.



With no clear indication of how this global outbreak will turn out and in the absence of any definitive means of curbing its spread, we have decided to cancel with the wellbeing of the delegation as top of our consideration. This decision has been made with the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff at the topmost of our priority. We do understand that this may cause some disappointment from your children so we hope you can also help in explaining the seriousness of the situation to them.



The School is waiting for feedback from the organisers for a possible refund of fees paid.  We will update everyone as soon as we get confirmation regarding this matter.
