Measles Immunization (BIAS Campak) for EL 1 Students

Dear EL 1 Parents,

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Domestic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia have a programme called Immunization  Month for School-Aged Children (Bulan Imunisasi Anak Sekolah/BIAS). They assigned a certain month wherein certain type of immunization is given to all school-aged children through the schools all over the country. August 2019 has been assigned as the month of measles immunization (BIAS Campak) in South Tangerang region.
What is measles?
Measles is one of the most contagious diseases. It is a disease caused by a virus. It spreads through the air — like when someone who has it coughs or sneezes. The virus can live for up to 2 hours in the air. According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, if 1 person has it, 9 out of 10 people close to that person who aren’t immune (protected) will also get measles. Measles can be dangerous — serious cases of measles can lead to brain damage and even death.
Who needs to get the measles vaccine?
Children need 2 doses of the vaccine at the following ages :

  1.  12 through 15 months for the first dose
  2.  4 through 6 years for the second dose (or sooner as long as it’s 28 days after the first dose)

Contraindications
Severe allergy to gelatin and components of the vaccine.
When will the vaccine be given in BINUS School Serpong?
BINUS SCHOOL Serpong Elementary will participate in this government-initiated programme. We have been scheduled to be given measles vaccine on Thursday, 22 Aug 2019.
How to participate?
Parents need to register their children by filling in the registration form online from:

Registration must be completed latest by Friday, 16 Aug 2019.
No registration through Whatsapp or e-mail will be accepted.

Kementerian Kesehatan bekerjasama dengan kementerian Pendidikan, Kementerian Agama, dan Kementerian Dalam Negeri Republik Indonesia memiliki suatu program yang disebut Bulan Imunisasi Anak Sekolah (BIAS). Dalam program ini, suatu bulan dipilih sebagai bulan pemberian suatu jenis imunisasi tertentu kepada semua anak sekolah di seluruh Nusantara. Bulan Agustus 2019 telah ditetapkan sebagai bulan BIAS campak di wilayah Tangerang Selatan.
Apakah campak itu?
Campak adalah salah satu penyakit paling menular yang ada di dunia. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh suatu virus. Penyebaran penyakit ini adalah melalui udara – misalnya saat seseorang yang telah terjangkit campak batuk atau bersin. Virus campak dapat hidup di udara hingga dua jam lamanya. Menurut U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, jika satu orang terkena campak, maka 9 dari antara 10 orang yang dekat dengannya akan terkena campak juga bila mereka tidak terlindungi (divaksinasi). Campak bisa berbahaya – kasus-kasus campak yang serius dapat menyebabkan kerusakan otak dan bahkan kematian.
Siapa yang perlu mendapatkan vaksin campak?
Anak-anak perlu diberikan dua kali suntikan campak, dengan perincian sebagai berikut:

  1.  Suntikan pertama diberikan pada usia 12 hingga 15 bulan
  2.  Suntikan kedua diberikan pada usia 4 hingga 6 tahun (bisa diberikan lebih awal asalkan jarak waktu dengan suntikan pertama lebih dari 28 hari)

Kontraindikasi
Alergi gelatin berat atau alergi terhadap salah satu komponen vaksin.
Kapan akan diberikan di BINUS School Serpong?
SD BINUS SCHOOL Serpong akan berpartisipasi dalam program yang diinisiasi pemerintah ini. SD BINUS SCHOOL Serpong dijadwalkan memperoleh vaksin campak pada  hari Kamis, 22 Agustus 2019.
Bagaimana caranya mendapatkan vaksin?
Orang tua harus mendaftarkan anaknya dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran daring di :

Formulir pendaftaran harus sudah dilengkapi paling lambat hari Jumat, 16 Agustus 2019.
Tidak menerima pendaftaran melalui Whatsapp atau surat elektronik.
